March is one of my favourite months of the year. It is that time of the year when the gloomy weather moves to the other side of the world and my side of the world gets a whole lot less gloomy. I always feel so fresh and regenerated when March rolls around. Keep on reading to find out why I love March so much!
Bring me the Swiffer because I want to Spring clean!
Welcome, March. It’s so good to have you. January and February were cold and dreary. We are only six days into the month and we are already being blessed with amazing weather. Shops are starting to sell flowers. Fields are starting to become colourful. The rain has subsidised (a little bit). I no longer have the need to wear big jackets that my claustrophobia doesn’t approve of.
Thank you, March!
This post is a random one but please bear with me. I promise you the reasons why I love this month are worth sticking around for.
Flowers: Lots and Lots of Flowers
Yes. I get giddy whenever I see a flower field (not that there are many in Malta, unfortunately) but the one time I spot one, I feel happy. Tulips are my favourite flowers which I made very clear on my blog. Click here for exhibit A and here for exhibit B.
I have this tradition with a friend of mine where we both find a day during the week to spend it driving around the island buying flowers. Last year, we started our adventure at 10 am and got back home at 7 pm. I bought a total of 10 bouquets of flowers. I’m not kidding. My room smelt like stepping into Piscopo Gardens. We are doing it again this year and I am beyond excited!

Cadbury Mini Eggs – Need I Say More?
My all-time favourite chocolate is Cadbury Mini Eggs. You know, the one in the yellow packet and can only get one time a year for Easter. Another good friend of mine introduced me to these egg-shaped pieces of chocolate heaven way back in 2017 and ever since then, I couldn’t stop. I remember grocery stores in Germany didn’t have any (what was that about, Germany?!) and my parents were nice enough to send me a package full of these delectable treats. Whenever I go to a supermarket and spot the yellow packet, I always make sure to grab a handful. I’d say a minimum of six and if you don’t believe me, I have proof. The obsession is real, folks.
The fact there’s a Chicken Ceaser Salad in the same shopping basket as six bags of mini eggs is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. But hey, it’s all about that ✨ balance ✨

Perfect Weather Means More Outside Time:
Everyone has different meanings to the term perfect weather. For me, it is a sunny day with a cold breeze. The kind where you enjoy going out for a walk without being drenched in sweat and almost having a heat stroke. Going on hikes and picnics is something I enjoy doing as well. There is something about that fresh March countryside air that a) makes me happy and b) brings me a lot of peace.

I love waking up on a Sunday morning, opening my curtains and my room is instantly lit up. Seeing the Sun makes me want to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather! While my bank account may disapprove of such activities, I can’t spend a beautiful day stuck inside. Sorry bank account! A girl gotta do what a girl gotta do.
Life in March becomes more iridescent, fun, light, happy.
