The Netherlands is well known amongst Tulip lovers for its stretches of Tulip fields all over the country. If you can’t go this year, do not fret! This blog post will give you all the Tulip loving vibes you need 🌷
The first time I fell in love with Tulips was in 2019. I was living in Germany at that time and kept seeing Tulips in grocery shops as well as people posting pictures at the Tulip fields. I fell in love, obviously and never looked back since. I remember I took a 5h trip from Germany to Holland specifically to see the Tulips. It wasn’t an easy feat finding a field with a never-ending amount of Tulips but when I finally did, I literally screamed.
I mean… how can you NOT get excited when you see a field like this?! Even to this day, I can confidently say that this trip was one of my favourites of all time! The pure enjoyment and thrill I had was something indescribable. Also, that is when my obsession with Tulips began.

Unfortunately, that was the first and last time (for now) I ever went to a Tulip field but that didn’t stop me from bringing Tulips inside my home! Whenever I went to Aldi, Lidl, Penny or any other grocery store in Germany, I always bought several bunches. Not one, not two. Several. Sometimes even four at once.
I couldn’t help myself. I had to get each and every one of them and then display them around my home. I took great pride in taking care of my Tulips and always made sure to change the water and give them the appropriate plant food.
Waking up in the morning and seeing Tulip bunches all over my house made my heart so happy. I can’t tell you exactly why, but they did and still do. Taking pictures of them and proudly showing them off was also something I enjoyed doing. Again, I can’t tell you why exactly but it did bring some joy into my day, no matter how I felt.
Sidenote: there are a LOT more pictures but I can’t possibly share them all on here.
Now that I am back home, I can’t drive to The Netherlands on a whim to enjoy a colourful Tulip field or even enjoy some smaller fields in Germany. Now I have to make do with what the grocery stores and florist shops have.
However, that does not stop me from bringing a little bit of joy to my day!
I hope this random post made you happy as much as I had fun writing it!
