Christmas Markets are something I look forward to everyday. The whole vibe of Christmas makes me happy. However, this year due to the current global pandemic Covid-19, a number of Christmas markets in Europe are cancelled. Click here to find out if your favourite market is happening this year or not!
We all thought Covid would die down by Summer.
We were so naive!
A couple of weeks ago, countries and organizers started announcing cancellations of Christmas markets.
As more cancellations happened, the more heartbroken I got. I love Christmas and Christmas markets ok?!
Below, you will find a list of European Christmas markets that have been cancelled so far.
Keep in mind that things change quickly. While I will do my best to share the latest updates, I recommend doing your own research as well!
Last year, Malta hosted it’s own Christmas market and it was a BLAST! I’m really sad that this year, there’s a chance it might not be happening. UGH! But, I do understand that it’s for the better.

From my research, Christmas markets in Spain are still on. Organizers of the Christmas Markets in Barcelona seem to be pressing on with preparations.
Same applies to the Spanish capital of Madrid.
It’s interesting how Spain is still allowing such events to happen knowing how much the country struggled with Covid 🤷🏻♀️ Anywho, if there’s any cancellations I will let you know!
