♡ COLMAR FRANCE:
Also known as Petit France (little France), this cute little city will certainly make you fall in love with it. Located very close to Strasbourg and the German and Swiss border, this town is the perfect destination for a romantic and relaxing getaway with your loved one. I mean, what’s there not to love about these cute colourful houses?!
Luckily, there are many activities happening on Valentines Day weekend! There is an ice-skating rink open on Valentines Day. On the agenda, there are a number of Valentine’s Day-themed activities, entertainment and free gifts to be won!
♡ Venice, Italy:
When one thinks of Venice, the first image that comes to mind is sitting in a gondola with your loved one with no worries in mind and admiring your surroundings. Click here to book your own Gondola ride.
Don’t forget about the Bridges of Sighs. The name of this bridge comes from the fact that prisoners were led to their cells through this bridge. They would sigh as they got the last glimpse of Venice. Nowadays, this bridge has become one of the most romantic sights in Venice.
You can also visit one of the nearby islands of Murano, Burano or Torcello. Torcello is the furthest island but less busy compared to the other two. Murano is known for glass blowing and tours are offered if that is something that interests you and your spouse.

♡ Paris, France:
You can’t write a blog post about love and not mention the city of love itself. Paris is a short train ride from the KMC Area (or a 4.5 hour car ride if you’re brave and daring). Tickets to Paris from Germany can be purchased here.
Spend your time there walking around the city (be careful of pickpocketers!), take pictures at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre and take a day trip to the castle of Versailles. One of the most beautiful and opulent castles in Europe.
If you’re up for a treat, attend a macaroon cooking class! These kind of experiences are perfect to learn more about the country’s culture and make new friends.

♡ Lisbon, Portugal:
If you’re looking for a slightly warmer climate, head to Portugal! Lisbon is the perfect mixture of sightseeing and relaxing at the same time. There is lots to do and explore. Not to mention that Portughese food is delicious, especially the Pasteis De Nata 🤤
You can take a sunset boat trip down the river Trejo and enjoy local wine and a small appetizer.
When I think of Valentines, I think of chocolate. Chocolate is like an addiction for me. If you’re a chocolate lover like myself, check out the legendary Landeau where you can find one of the most, if not the most, decadent chocolate cake.
You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Sintra and marvel in its rich history and architecture.
Whether you spend your time in Lisbon sightseeing, taking a boat trip or eating cake, you can rest assured that it will be a romantic getaway with your soulmate or as they say in Portughese “the other half of your orange” (media laranja!)

Even though Slovenia is a bit of a drive from Germany, I think it is a very romantic destination. You can spend your weekend there exploring the capital, going to Lake Bled and exploring its stunning surroundings and go to the heart of Slovenia!
The heart of Slovenia which is a famous heart-shaped road in Slovenia.

What makes Amsterdam romantic is walking down the many waterways located throughout the old city centre (and feeling like you’re swimming in one of those waterways thanks to their special brownies)
